How to play

Kaboom Lab is a neon explosion sandbox, and you're the mad scientist. Tap or click to fire an electric zap into the lab — it shoves everything nearby and sets off whatever it lands on. One blast primes the next, and a good hit ripples outward into a runaway chain reaction.

You get a handful of zaps per lab — three to start, more in deeper labs — and every hit, shatter and blast piles onto your Chaos score. There's no way to lose. The only goal is to out-chaos your last run.

A direct zap hits hardest. Barrels take a couple of hits to prime — the orange pips count down — then blow, and each blast shoves and triggers everything around it, so the chain rolls on.
☣️
Prime it, then finish it
A direct zap adds a big charge; a nearby blast, tesla pulse or hard collision only primes a component. Most things go off on the first trigger — but ooze barrels need two hits (three in the deepest labs), so save a follow-up zap to finish the ones you've primed and light the whole tower.

The lab bench

A crate tower rises in the middle, with barrels buried inside it and reactor cores hidden at its base, while loose targets are scattered around. Almost everything reacts — crates are the only inert filler, and even they pay off when you fling them.

The reactive cast. Set one off and it sets off its neighbours.
☣️Ooze barrel — takes a hit or two, then detonates in a big radial blast. The lab's main chain-driver.
⚛️Reactor core — buried at the base of the tower. Goes critical and erupts the whole stack of crates skyward.
🚀Rocket flask — ignites and rockets across the lab, then explodes where it lands. A guided missile for a far-off cluster.
Tesla node — fires one electric pulse that kicks and triggers its neighbours, then goes dark.
🎈Gas balloon — floats upward on its own and pops on the first contact.
🧪Beaker — fragile glassware that simply shatters for quick points.
📦Crate — inert filler that just gets shoved around — but launch it high above the lab and cash in an airborne bonus.
🔴Bouncy ball — ricochets around the lab, knocking loose components into each other.

Rack up chaos

Every scoring hit bumps a combo multiplier that climbs half a point at a time — all the way to 13× — for as long as the chain keeps going. Let it stall for a beat and the multiplier resets, so the biggest scores come from one long, unbroken cascade. Fling crates above the halfway line for extra airborne bonuses on top.

When your zaps run out, the lab settles and your run is graded — from a Mild Fizzle up to a Certified Catastrophe past 900 chaos, and a Lab Condemned beyond 1,800:

Each lab is scored on its own, and your best lab is saved in your browser — so you're always chasing a single glorious run. No account needed.

Lab after lab

Clear a lab and you can move on to the next or redo it for a better score. Early labs are gentle — a few beakers and a small tower — while later ones pack in flasks, tesla nodes, balloons and more barrels, and hand you more zaps to trigger them. Nothing moves until your first zap, so take a moment to read the room before you fire.

Tips

  • Aim your first zap into the densest cluster — the shove reaches everything within range.
  • Save a zap to finish the barrels you've primed; that's what turns a pop into a chain.
  • Detonate a buried core to launch the crate tower and rack up airborne bonuses.
  • Keep the chain alive — the multiplier resets the moment the action stalls.
  • Point a flask at a far-off cluster you can't reach with a zap.
